Alappuzha: ‘Aarthavayaanam,’ an initiative of Kozhikode-based menstrual aducation collective Red Cycle to sensitise students of both sexes on the biological imperative of this physical condition was held to mixed audiences in St. Joseph’s Women’s College and S D V Central School here. Sustainable Menstruation Kerala Collective co-founder Kavya Menon spoke to the substantial gatherings on the need to remove the cloak of silence that shrouds the subject. She and co-ordinator Dinesh Reghunathan educated the audience on various aspects of the menstrual cycle, food and hygeine regimen to be followed during the period. The college function was inagurated by local MLA Prathiba Hari.
